My high-achieving women clients are Non-Profit Leaders and Small Business Owners and they seem to know the importance of sharing knowledge – but do you?
When you pass something along to someone else, whether it’s an idea, a thought, a feeling, or a resource, everybody walks away a winner. It could be a great book that you read, an awesome podcast you recently listened to, maybe something you are doing that has changed your health. Whatever benefit you received can be passed along and in the process of passing it along, you will benefit again and again.
If you share what you’ve learned with 10 different people, they get to hear it once, and you get to hear it 10 times. It’s probably going to do more for you than for them until they start the sharing process as well.
When you share, you become a better and much richer person sooner than later. Think about this – if you have a full glass of water, can the glass hold any more water? Well the answer is ‘yes’, but only if you pour out what’s already in it. That means sharing with others.
Unlike a glass, when you pour something out of yourself, you become a bigger and better high-achieving woman. We all have the ability to grow in consciousness, awareness and capacity.
Think about this: “how many languages can a child learn”. The answer: “As many as you’ll take the time to teach him/her”. Children do not lack capacity. They only lack teachers. So sharing is the key!
For me, conducting seminars, webinars, writing books and developing a teaching signature programs are all joys in life. They are the best investment I can make of my words, heart, spirit, time and energy.
I enjoy nothing more than to hear somebody say, “You got me started. You turned my life and business around, got me thinking, got me pondering… and I’ve been on track ever since we had that conversation.”
You will hear that kind of praise (and I am sure more!) when you share. Share with your children, share with your colleagues, share with other non-profit leaders, share with other women business owners, share with everybody that comes within your grasp.
Remember you don’t lack capacity. Each time you share what you’ve know, you get bigger. Your consciousness and knowledge-base grows. Your capacity increases. Why should you want your capacity to grow? You want it to grow so you can hold more of what is being shared with you – and capacity allows you to expand so that you can do more and be more.
