All of us are born into a world surrounded by the "culture of our family". How we interact and with whom, what social groups (church, schools, etc.) we belong to and their belief systems, and finally, what technological developments (computers, smart phones, etc) are a part our daily lives, are the cultural factors that serve as the foundation for our self identity. Everyone is given these at the time of their birth, and as a result, they begin to develop their unique perception. Everyone's "family culture" is a variation on the theme of social groups, belief systems and technological involvement.
As we grow physically and emotionally through childhood, our "family culture" will likely change. Throughout this process we form our perception of who we are. All of the above influencers impact our perception and make it special to us.
Just as no two snowflakes are the same, no two personal perceptions are the same. Our perceptions determine our emotions and subsequently our thoughts. This interaction between emotions and thoughts ultimately reinforces our perceptions.
At Mind Nourishment for the Soul, we provide each member a therapeutic insight or thought in an educational format to help you understand the systems and processes that have facilitated how you have become who you are. In addition, we provide a challenge question to apply this information to your daily life activities. A journal is also provided so that you can write your thoughts, feelings, questions, and understandings to apply to your own personal growth and development. By joining now, you will begin your journey to self discovery and how to become who you want to be.
