Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds. These are words originated from a song from the late Bob Marley (1981). The definition of Emancipation is “the fact or process of being set free from legal, social, or political restrictions; liberation.” Emancipate, set yourself free from mental restrictions. This blog has no intention towards activism since every individual is free to think as they please.
Mental slavery within this blog’s context refers to the wait of many (mental) permission to be, say, and live life the way they want when every person has the power to decide for themselves. It calls for the question: why are so few people operating from their core belief?
The gift of mental freedom.
It is fear, the fear of lack, the fear of loss, and insecurity towards the future that holds a man back. Mental freedom has to do with the foundation of a person realizing that this gift is (already) present in all of us. Humans were born with it but have been given “rules and restrictions” by educators in their childhood. These early educators required and corrected any rule which was not followed by a margin. It has been the first imprint of forming your mental chamber. The silent message was: If you are behaving away from the rule, this will be the consequence. As a child, you didn’t further examine this “truth” since we trusted and loved our educators.
An adult may still adhere to some of these rules since you can appreciate the benefits of following them. However, when adherence to the regulations is silently is expected to abide, this is a form of mental slavery. Emancipate yourself. The mental strength to live life the way your core tells you to you should is one that is build up after regaining your freedom. Fear is misdirected energy. Please walk up to the lion and fight him. The realization of an individual that rules do not have to pertain to the masses gives him the freedom to analyze and change his adherence to the practice in his personal life. Mental freedom at its purest. How can an individual regain mental freedom?
– Get honest with yourself. Analyze the rules you adhere to and ask yourself if they fit with the life and person you currently are. Will this person carry you towards your envisioned life? If not, have a clear vision about the person you are and the life you want to live.
– Don’t wait for permission; permission only pertains to something that is not yours. When it comes to mental freedom, this is not the case; it’s already yours.
– Only do the things that bring out your power. Don’t fill your time with other people’s purposes. People will only be what they believe themselves to be.
– This is your life you are living, and you will only suffer any misrepresentation of your core and values. Redeem yourself and free yourself of mental slavery.
“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
