It happens to all of us, sometimes we just need a confidence boost to propel us into action. We hear it all the time, action and consistency will lead to results and like Mel Robbins says, you are never going to feel like it you just need to do it!
When I learned that my routine, my simple daily routine, could impact my daily outcomes I was floored. I mean who would have thought that something as simple as making your bed can help you create forward movement. However, it does, the simple little tasks we do have an impact on our overall day, mindset and ultimately our end result.
I decided to give this a try about a year ago now and I have never looked back! Short term goals are essential to your overall success. Crazy right? However, if I look back to see why I fell short in the past, it was simple. My vision and my goals were not aligned.
Short-term goal setting is a skill, and all skills improve over time the more you use a muscle the stronger it becomes. Just keep in mind progress over perfection – always; the more you set these goals the better you will become at this skill.
Short term goals are not always just business goals, these can also be relationship, spiritual or even financial goals. You need to start today, for again the quicker you adopt this habit into your daily routine the closer you will become to those long term’s goals becoming reality.
How you ask? Take a hard look at your long-term goals and vision (1 year 5 year and 10 year) and be very aware of your vision for they always should go hand in hand. Now pull that back to see what are you doing TODAY that is going to have an impact on that goal? By the way if the answer is nothing…. go back and try again for all short-term goals should be leading you to long term goals (ultimately success). The small goals such as making your bed or connecting with five new people may seem small, but they have a tremendous ripple effect on your mindset and these small wins create energy
Short term goal setting is something we work with our clients on (day goals, weekly goals, monthly goals) on a consistent basis and then provide insight on how to ensure these targets are helping you with the long-term vision you have for your business and life.
Short term goals will help you with the boost you need while also helping you stay the course and create momentum that forward movement, we need to have all the time.
Quick Results = Quick Wins and that is a recipe for excellence, it is simple, but Far From Basic (see what I did there, clever right?)
