It is a difficult time for many. Many things we’ve considered securities have changed. These certainties have been built up over several years, and the investments that have been made are not only in material things. This is also where the crux lies; the value of immaterial things cannot be expressed in monetary terms. Innovation can fall into this category. Innovation or renewal is a new idea, good, service, and process or a combination thereof. This may mean that something does not have the “Elon Musk” – effect but can indeed have the same immaterial value by the creator and inventor.
Unfortunately, the term innovation is often used when it comes to eye-catching designs that affect large groups of people. Many professionals have to be aware that they can also guide themselves through an innovative process – on a smaller but just as effective scale. The innovation process comes about in many steps. In between, a professional will travel the road to Innovation as that of an emotional rollercoaster. And this is the norm – Expect it and anticipate accordingly.
It would help if you had the spirit of change. There are many struggles with the effects of change. By making the change tangible, you ensure “seeing” the result (the final output). It is essential to realize that the fact that you see your output does not mean that the road has already been traveled. If you, in your enthusiasm, lose sight of the work you have to do, this might lead to discouragement.
Guarantee the result by recording it. In factors like time, be precise about the beginning and the end of the project. In performing activities and being clear about the environment in which the output comes into its own. Mapping out the road provides a mental confirmation for the professional. It gives a practical approach to the (im) possibilities contained in the plan. By working out these steps in a project with activities, one obtains insight in advance. Ensure success on paper with the practical side that promotes realism.
One pitfall that can prevent is that a professional gets caught up in planning the activities and rewriting the plan every time. Work on the project, but take a clear position on the start of the basic concept. Starting on your goal is liberating and sticking to the plan gives structure. Move between the project’s frameworks and the execution of the activities in the best possible way with the resources you currently have available. So start – Now.
There is a story of a plastic surgeon renowned for his skills. When looking at his method, it turned out that he adhered to a 2-millimeter standard. This slight difference made the (optically) big difference. Try to find out where your 2-millimeter standard is. Don’t go for the grandiose steps, but work towards achieving your goal’s most significant effect.
“Innovation is taking two things that exist and putting them together in a new way” – Unknown.
